Abstract
A new nuclide Pa-239 produced by 50MeV/u O-18 bombardment of uranium. A radiochemical separation method was employed for preparing sources o f Pa-239 The protactinium isotope Pa-239 has been identified for the f irst time by the results observed from the decay of the Pa-239 and its daughter U-239. The half-life of Pa-239 has been determined to be 106 +/- 30 min.
