Specific ethical guidelines for working with Indigenous Peoples have b
een adopted by several research institutions. Ethical principles aim a
t promoting cooperation and mutual respect between researchers and com
munities of Indigenous Peoples. These principles are meant to be conti
nually assessed. This article reports on the content and format of cur
rent ethical guidelines and highlights directions for further developm
ent.
