Abstract
For soliton-based WDM systems with lumped amplifiers, the variance of the timing jitter resulting from soliton collisions is derived. The BE R expression of the systems is given by considering soliton collisions and the Gordon-Haus effect. The dependence of the BER on the channel spacing is discussed, and the optimal channel spacing is determined.
