Abstract
To our knowledge, we are the first to report the observation of self-Q switched self-mode-locking directly generated in a self-mode-locked T i : sapphire laser. The self-Q switched period was observed with a nea rly linear dependence on the distance between one spherical mirror M3 and the close face of the laser rod.
