Abstract
A case of non-bacterial thrombotic endocarditis, which caused acute ao rtic regurgitation in a middle-aged, otherwise healthy, woman, is pres ented. The diagnosis was confirmed with echocardiography and documente d by a histopathological study of the excised aortic value after opera tion for valve replacement.
