Kd. Weltmann et al., EXPERIMENTAL CONTROL OF CHAOS IN A PERIODICALLY DRIVEN GLOW-DISCHARGE, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 52(2), 1995, pp. 2106-2109
The control of the chaotic state of ionization waves in the positive c
olumn of a periodically driven neon glow is achieved by an active feed
back technique based on the algorithm suggested by Ott, Grebogy, and Y
orke [Phys. Rev. Lett. 64, 1196 (1990)]. Unstable periodic orbits of b
oth low and high periodicity could be stabilized by small, time-depend
ent variations of the modulation amplitude.
