Abstract
A photoinduced change in refractive index has been observed and studie d in strained CdTe/CdMnTe quantum-well heterostructures grown on CdZnT e substrates in the (111) orientation, The effect stems from a shift o f resonant frequencies and from a change in the oscillator strengths o f exciton transitions. It reaches a maximum for exciton transitions be tween the first electron quantum-well subband and the second hole quan tum-well subband. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physics.
