Interesting contributions on Helicobacter pylori and gastritis have be
en made in the field of disease associations, in particular, gastric u
lceration, the natural history of certain topographical patterns, hist
ological detection, the pathology of eradication, coccoid forms and th
e role of metaplasia. Debate continues about the relationship between
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and the organism. The latter is n
ow established as one cause of gastric giant-fold disease, which in tu
rn may be linked with lymphocytic gastritis.
