Abstract
The medium-consistency pilot plant at Paprican has been modified to bl each softwood kraft pulp with ozone. Ozone gas concentrations as high as 15% by weight have been routinely applied to pulp to give single-st age ozone charges of up to 0.5% by weight on O.D. pulp and efficient o zone bleaching with pulp strength retention has been achieved.
