B. Lai et al., CONTINUOUS-WAVE TUNABLE LIGHT-SOURCE AT 1.6 MU-M BY DIFFERENCE-FREQUENCY MIXING IN CSTIOASO4, Optics letters, 20(17), 1995, pp. 1779-1781
We report the generation of tunable cw radiation at 1.6 mu m by differ
ence-frequency mixing in a type II phase-matched 90 degrees-cut CsTiOA
sO4 crystal, using a Kr-ion laser at 531 nm and a tunable Ti:sapphire
laser as the input light sources. The output was tunable from 1.57 to
1.65 mu m with a single-pass output power of 1 mu W. We used doubly re
sonant external-cavity enhancement to generate 100 mu W Of output powe
r by placing the crystal inside an optical cavity that was resonant at
the frequencies of the input Ti:sapphire laser and the 1.6-mu m outpu
t light. (C) 1995 Optical Society of America
