Abstract
1,1-Bis-(2-aminoethyl)hydrazine condenses with formaldehyde to a polym er that is isomerized to the nonacyclic title compound, showing increa sed conformational mobility and crystallizing as a tetrahydrate for wh ich the X-ray analysis reveals channels formed by stacked rings and fi lled by chains of water molecules.
