Abstract
A linearized solution for a series cascade of three Mach Zehnder inter ferometers separated by directional couplers is obtained that eliminat es both the third and fifth order coefficients of the Taylor series re presentation of the transfer function, The device is characterized in terms of harmonic distortion with a three tone signal, similar to 20-d B improvement in third harmonic distortion is obtained compared to a t wo section device.
