Abstract
A simple, rapid and direct spectrophotometric method using n-amylthiog lycolate has been developed for the simultaneous spectrophotometric de termination of nickel and palladium. The molar absorptivities are calc ulated to be 0.45 x 10 4 l mol(-1)cm(-1) and 0.73 x 10 4 l mol(-1)cm(- 1) for nickel and palladium respectively. Various parameters, includin g the concentration of n-amylthioglycolate, effect of pH and interfere nce by diverse ions have been studied to optimize the simultaneous det ermination of nickel and palladium in synthetic mixtures and various a lloys.
