Abstract
Using a method analogous to that of Davies and Taylor [7], a simple mo del incorporating wake effects is employed to derive the velocity of a two-dimensional gas bubble rising in a fluidized bed. Predicted value s of bubble rise velocity agree well with the experimental data. Effec ts of wake angle and bubble aspect ratio on rise velocity are also dis cussed.
