Lj. Zhang et Sj. Xu, EDGE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF ANISOTROPIC WAVE-GUIDES WITH FULL PERMITTIVITY AND PERMEABILITY MATRICES, International journal of infrared and millimeter waves, 16(8), 1995, pp. 1351-1360
Dispersion characteristics of anisotropic guided-wave structures are a
nalyzed by the edge-element method to eliminate spurious solutions. Th
is approach can be applied to the cases in which the permittivity and
permeability matrices are full. An eigenvalue equation which can provi
de direct solution for the phase constants is also derived when the te
nsors of the medium can be seperated into transverse and axial compone
nts. Numerical examples are presented for longitudinally magnetized, f
errite loaded waveguides and optical waveguides whose optic axis lies
in xz- or yz- plane.
