A series of bichromophor compounds N-Hn-A( [GRAPHICS] N = 2,4,6,8,10)
has been synthesized by ourselves for the investigation of energy Tran
sfer. Bichromophore compound and gamma- CD or beta- CD aqueous solutio
n are made up at the molar ratio of 1:1. It has been discovered that t
he efficiency of the energy transfer of the compound (n = 10) in the g
amma- CD is obviously higher than that in the beta- CD. This means tha
t the cavity of the gamma- CD is more suitable for the substrate than
that of the beta- CD. Three kinds of associate solution (C12As sodium
dodecylsulfonate, CTAB cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, AOT bis (2-ethy
lhexyl) sodium sulfosuccinate) have been used. The study of the series
compounds (N-Hn-A) by means of fluorescence spectra has shown that th
e high efficiency energy transfer occurs in the microemulsion and mice
llar systems and the low efficiency energy transfer in the liquid crys
tal. These findings demonstrate that if the molecule of the substrate
is set in the core of the microemulsion, the distance between the two
chromophores is very short, in contrast, if the molecule is set in the
lameller liquid crystal, the distance between the two chromophores is
relatively long and the efficiency of the energy transfer in the latt
er system is very low.
