Temperature-humidity conditions and corrosion of steel, zinc, and copp
er in spaces covered by polyethylene films are studied. A chemical des
iccant introduced into the space decreases the air humidity there and
maintains it at a level of 70%, thus preventing corrosion of metals. M
oisture-penetrability coefficients of the polyethylene covering are ca
lculated.
