W. Paul et Cp. Sharma, MODIFIED HYDROXYAPATITE MICROSPHERES AS IMMUNOADSORBENT FOR PLASMA PERFUSION - PRELIMINARY-STUDY, Journal of colloid and interface science, 174(1), 1995, pp. 224-229
An improved solid-support, affinity immunoadsorbent suitable for extra
corporeal perfusion of plasma is reported. This consists of hydroxyapa
tite microspheres coated with a thin layer of poly(vinyl alcohol) and
immobilized phenylalanine as ligand. This adsorbent can remove IgG imm
unoglobulins specifically from plasma. The modified adsorbent may be u
sed for direct hemoperfusion as a cheaper alternative to plasma adsorp
tion therapy by eliminating cell separator for selective removal of an
tibodies belonging to immunoglobulin G class. (C) 1995 Academic Press,
