Abstract
The interaction of fullerene C-60 with molecular iodine in organic sol vents was studied. The stoichiometry of the complex formed, C-60:I-2 = 1 : 3, Was determined spectro-photometrically and by the interphase d istribution technique. The constant of the formation of the adduct in toluene was calculated to be logK = 8.9+/-0.3.
