Abstract
Large area (0.8 cm2) single-crystal films similar to 1 mu m thick of N i-cu alloy have been electrodeposited directly onto (100) n-type GaAs. The epitaxial relationship was found to be (001) Ni-Cu parallel to (0 01) GaAs and [110] Ni-Cu parallel to [100] GaAs. Magnetic measurements show the films to be ferromagnetic.
