Abstract
The dynamics of a microplasmoid expansion in vacuo was computer simula ted (the size scale was 0.02 mu m; the time scale was 10(-13) s). The latter is on the order of the electron relaxation time. The radial dis tribution of the electron density was obtained. The electric field in the vicinity of the plasmoid surface and its fluctuations in time were calculated. The obtained value of the emission current density approa ches the experimental one and is only a few times lower than its theor etical upper limit.
