Kf. Scott, CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN ASSESSMENT REHABILITATION FOR IMPROVED FUNCTION IN THE OLDER PATIENT, Topics in geriatric rehabilitation, 11(1), 1995, pp. 1-5
This article identifies the efficacy of closed kinetic chain assessmen
ts and rehabilitation of the lower extremities in specific regard to p
romoting improved function in the older patient. Clinicians have typic
ally used more traditional means of evaluating function (eg, manual mu
scle tests, joint range of motion, isokinetic values) rather than usin
g functional tests. To evaluate function of the lower extremities, bio
mechanical analysis will be addressed in specific regard to multijoint
, multiplane, integrated movement that occurs during functional activi
ties. Specific functional tests and measurements will also be provided
.
