Abstract
A simple experiment based on magnetic induction is presented to measur
e the velocity of a magnet flying through air using a signal induced b
y a magnet when it passes through a coil. The results show that some p
roperties of this signal depend only on the geometry of the coil and t
his fact can easily be applied to obtain the velocity of the magnet. (
