Abstract
A putative nonstructural protein encoded by a satellite RNA associated with bamboo mosaic potexvirus shares 46% identity with the capsid pro tein of satellite virus of panicum mosaic sobemovirus. The sequence si milarity among satellite plant viruses which have no apparent relation ship implies a common origin.
