Abstract
The properties of the vanadium valence band have been studied by norma l emission ultra violet photoelectron spectroscopy from V(100) surface by the use of different photon energies (21.2, 16.8 and 11.8 eV). The bottom of the d-band at the high symmetry point H-12 was found to be around 2.5 eV. We did not find conclusive evidence for the existence o f the surface resonance on the V(100) surface.
