Abstract
The structure of chloropeptin I, a gp120-CD4 binding inhibitor having a potent anti-HIV activity, was elucidated by H-1 and C-13 NMR experim ents and chemical degradation. It is a peptide antibiotic consisting o f six aryl amino acids residues and an a-ore aryl acid some of which h ave chlorine atoms.
