Abstract
The loose type flange made of an orthotropic material is analysed empl oying anisotropic theory of plates. A new design procedure is develope d on the basis of the above-referred analysis and BS 5500 method. Tabl es for a design parameter, Y, have been prepared for different radii, thickness and elastic constants. A program is also developed for desig n procedure.
