Strong inhomogeneous broadening of the copper NMR line in UCu5-xPdx, x
= 1.0 and 1.5, indicates that spin susceptibility disorder contribute
s to the non-Fermi-liquid behavior of these alloys. A simple phenomeno
logical model with a distribution of Kondo temperatures fits the field
and the temperature dependence of the susceptibility, and then descri
bes the copper NMR linewidth semiquantitatively with no further adjust
able parameters. The temperature and the field dependence of the speci
fic heat also agree well with the model.
