SEDIMENTATION TENDENCY OF BOMBAY HIGH CRUDE-OIL - EFFECT OF WAX AND FLOW IMPROVER ADDITIVE

Effects of time, wax concentration and flow improver additive on the s edimentation tendency of Bombay High crude oil have been investigated. Centrifugation technique has been used in this study, It has been obs erved that with increasing centrifugation time, the yield of sediments increases while the melting point of the sediments decreases asymptot ically and finally both attain a constant value. Use of centrifugation technique to evaluate the effectiveness of flow improver additives in reducing sediment deposition in crude oils has also been demonstrated .
