Abstract
The photo- and radiation-induced recrystallization in alpha-LiIO3 and beta-AgI crystals has been studied. The most important similarities an d dissimilarities of the two substances have been stated. The outstand ing role of oxygen involving chains in new crystal shapes formation, e specially in filamentary growth, is manifested.
