Abstract
We construct a three-dimensional magnetic braking model for synchronou
sly rotating magnetic binaries. The total magnetic nux in open field l
ines from the secondary star, which is responsible for magnetic brakin
g, is calculated for a range of values of white dwarf field strength.
The three-dimensional calculations improve the accuracy in determining
the rate of angular momentum loss and confirm that the actual braking
rate is in between the values given by the 'ring' and the 'coin' mode
ls in our previous two-dimensional calculations.
