Abstract
We construct a mathematical model for two whole genome amplification s trategies, primer extension preamplification (PEP) and tagged polymera se chain reaction (tagged PCR), An explicit formula for the expected t arget yield of PEP is obtained, The distribution of the target yield a nd the coverage properties of these two strategies are studied by simu lations. From our studies we find that polymerase with high processivi ty may increase the efficiency of PEP and tagged PCR.
