Abstract
Closed-form solutions of the characteristic initial Value problem for electric and magnetic fields propagating as nonsinusoidal plane TEM-wa ves in lossy unbounded media are calculated with Riemann's method and discussed in detail. As an application, the reflection and transmissio n of waves on a planar boundary is examined, when one semi-infinite me dium is lossy.
