Active noise control consists in minimizing an undesirable noise by ge
nerating an opposite noise by means of secondary sources. The effectiv
eness of an active control system is improved by an optimized location
of sources. We propose a new method of placement for a single frequen
cy excitation based on integer programming. Amplitudes and source loca
tions are determined simultaneously. This method is adapted to difficu
lt problems where analytical solutions for amplitudes are unknown (bou
nds on source strengths or ''minimax criterion'').
