Abstract
The change occurring in the binding energy of the electrons on impurit y atoms as a result of the relocation of the wave function in a system of quantum wells in an external electric field, which is longitudinal with respect to the axis of growth of the heterostructure, was invest igated, As a result of this effect, the concentration of free charge c arriers changes substantially and the lateral conductivity of the syst em is thereby modulated.
