A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF EXPERT-SYSTEM APPLICATIONS FOR BUSINESS (1984-1992)

The purpose of this research is to present a comprehensive bibliograph y of expert system (ES) application research in business. Two hundred and fourteen ES application papers are identified through the exhausti ve literature searches. A classification of these articles by applicat ion area reveals that ESs are being used for a diverse range of corpor ate functional activities, particularly in the areas of production/ope rations, finance, and information systems. Information on the name of each ES, the development tool, the stage of development, and the compu ter operating environment as reported in each article is included. Tho se journals which have published the most ES business applications are also presented.
