Abstract
In this article, the authors present a newly developed self-report mea sure that assesses specific communication skills that couples may use, particularly during conflict discussions. The authors present prelimi nary findings from 2 studies on this measure to support its validity a nd use in guiding and measuring the effectiveness of clinical interven tions with couples. Specific clinical implications related to the deve lopment of this measure are discussed.
