Hybrid particles have been synthesized from methyltriethoxysilane (MTE
OS) by the sol-gel process. The particle size, size distribution, part
icle surface morphology conductivity and pH of the reaction solution a
t different reaction times were determined. Compared with tetraethyl o
rthosilicate (TEOS) and p-(chloromethyl)phenyl-trimethoxysilane (CMPTO
S), MTEOS has a slower hydrolysis rate.
