Abstract
An 11-month-old boy was brought to the pediatric emergency department for evaluation of acute onset of irritability and involuntary side-to- side turning of the head. Neurologic examination revealed cortical bli ndness, Toxicologic studies of blood and urine were positive for metha mphetamine, The infant's vision and activity returned to normal within 12 hours, The possible mechanisms of this unusual form of amphetamine toxicity are discussed.
