Abstract
The designs of two dielectric-filled metal-pipe rectangular waveguide structures are presented which are both compatible with monolithic-int egrated circuit technology. The first design uses ultralow-loss materi als while the second employs materials that were available at the time . The measured performances of an experimental 105 GHz proof-of-concep t pi-network clearly demonstrates that the dominant TE(10) mode of pro pagation is supported in this uniplanar technology.
