Abstract
The Kaps and Rentrop method of order four with step size control is us ed to solve stiff systems of ordinary differential equations. We apply only the stable method to solve the point kinetics equations for both the improved and the generalized quasistatic methods. The results obt ained by implementing the method in TRIVAC-3 reactor code are very clo se to those obtained by Gear's method.
