Tj. Han et al., STRIP GINGIVAL AUTOGRAFT USED TO CORRECT MUCOGINGIVAL PROBLEMS AROUNDIMPLANTS, The International journal of periodontics & restorative dentistry, 15(4), 1995, pp. 405-411
This case report describes the use of a strip gingival autograft to tr
ansplant narrow strips of keratinized gingiva around dental implants.
Replacement of unattached, nonkeratinized mucosa with keratinized ging
iva resulted in firmly attached gingiva and an improved seal around im
plants that was healthier and more resistant to inflammation. The stri
p gingival autograft technique is a simple surgery that results in les
s discomfort for the patient and provides predictable results.
