R. Bourne et C. Burgess, EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON A MULTICOMPONENT ULTRAVIOLET SPECTROMETRIC DETERMINATION AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TEMPERATURE-INDEPENDENT ASSAY PROCEDURE, Analyst, 120(8), 1995, pp. 2075-2080
The effect of temperature variations on the spectrometric analysis of
a two-component pharmaceutical preparation, ranitidine injection, has
been investigated. Assay temperature coefficients of up to 0.8% degree
s C-1 were obtained. A temperature-compensating approach, whereby a tw
o-component solution can be analysed at any (unknown) temperature agai
nst reference standard solutions measured at other unknown temperature
s, has been developed and validated.
