Abstract
Crystals of tetraphenylporphyrinato lanthanoid(III) complexes, [Ln(tpp )acac . 3TCB . 8H(2)O] (Ln=Gd, Sm), were prep ared and isolated by dir ect crystallization of the reaction mixture from solution of toluene:T CB (10:1). Its monomeric composition was characterized on the basis of UV-vis, magnetic circular dichroism (MCD), IR, Raman, H-1 NMR spectra and elemental analysis. Single-crystal lattice parameters were obtain ed by X-ray crystallography of triclinic [Gd(tpp)acac . 8H(2)O . 3TCB] , a = 19.72 Angstrom, b=21.62 Angstrom, c=23.15 Angstrom, alpha=69.64 degrees, beta=81.52 degrees, gamma=83.06 degrees, and V=9048 Angstrom( 3).
