LUMINESCENCE STUDY OF COMPLEXATION OF EU(III) AND TB(III) WITH N-METHYLIMINODIACETIC ACID

Spectroscopic studies of the complexes of Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions wit h N-methyliminodiacetic acid (MIDA) are reported. Measurements of the changes in luminescence intensity and lifetime of Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions in these complexes were taken. The lifetimes of europium and terb ium ions measured in environments of H2O and D2O permitted determinati on of the number of water molecules coordinated in the inner sphere of the lanthanide ion.
