A new cycloartane-type triterpene has been isolated from the leaves of
Aglaia harmsiana and the structure was determined as cycloartane-3 be
ta,29-diol-24-one [1] on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence.
In addition, (24R)-cycloartane-24,25-diol-3-one [2] was isolated in a
pure state for the first time.
