Abstract
One of the features provided by distribution automation which can resu lt in substantial savings for the utility is feeder reconfiguration fo r loss minimization. Since the composition of loads for various feeder s is different, and their loading patterns vary with time, there is a need for feeder reconfiguration to be carried out whenever there is a change in the loads. In this paper a new 0-1 integer programming metho d of feeder reconfiguration for loss minimization in distribution syst ems is proposed. The proposed method is illustrated with an example.
