There is a large discrepancy in the values reported in the literature
for the azeotrope in the system propane-hydrogen sulfide. Previous inv
estigations did not measure the azeotrope directly, but inferred it fr
om other equilibrium measurements. In this work the azeotrope was meas
ured directly. Correlations based on the new data were developed. In a
ddition the binary critical locus was determined. The new values for t
he critical locus are in good agreement with the values reported in th
e literature. A comparison was made with several simple correlations f
or binary critical loci. The results of these comparisons showed that
while good correlations exist for the critical temperature, the correl
ations for the critical pressure are not as good.
