Abstract
Slow, immiscible, viscoelastic liquid-liquid displacement in a permeab le medium is considered. The necessary and sufficient criteria for sta bility are that the displacing fluid is denser and less mobile than th e displaced one. The instability criteria and critical wavelength are found to be the same as those for ordinary viscous liquid-liquid displ acements in permeable media.
