Abstract
The possibility of producing nanocrystallites by laser heat treatment of a metallic glass is investigated. Structural and magnetic propertie s, after various annealing conditions, are reported. Laser annealing i s demonstrated to be an effective, alternative technique for control o f nanometric crystallization. This technique also shows a number of ad vantages with respect to conventional heat treatments. (C) 1995 Americ an Institute of Physics.
